An OEM enquiry is easier to assess when the business provides a clear product brief. The idea does not need to be technically complete, but it should explain the customer and commercial goal.
Describe the Target Customer
Explain who will buy the product, where it will be sold and how it will be eaten. A café item, retail pack and hotel product may need different planning.
Explain the Product Direction
- Waffle style and intended size
- Flavour direction
- Expected sweetness or texture
- Serving or selling format
- Features that are essential versus optional
Share a Realistic Volume
Provide an expected monthly quantity or a sensible range. The manufacturer needs this information to assess production and commercial suitability.
Prepare Packaging Requirements
State whether the project needs individual wrapping, retail packaging or business-use packs. Packaging information, design and compliance responsibilities must be discussed clearly.
Set a Target, Not an Impossible Deadline
Allow time for discussion, samples, testing, decisions and production planning. Custom product development is not the same as ordering an existing wholesale item.
Waffle5 works with selected partners on customised development. Read about Waffle5’s experience and submit the project requirements through its business supply page.
